Stumble WTH!

Games, Flames, and Automobiles!

Okay, starting off with some awesome news that I wish I had known about on Thursday! Bunch of gamers got together and had a Super Mario Marathon this weekend in an attempt to have fun and raise money for Child's Play Charity! What was really cool here is that they hosted the WHOLE weekend event on UStream so people could hang out. They video feed had split screen of the game and also the 'gaming couch.' I dropped in a few times this weekend after I heard about it from Rob and if you follow me on Twitter then you might've seen me commenting about it. It was a great idea, and it was highly successful in raising $11,185 for Child's Play. REALLY great work!! You can see info about the seven games they played including start and finish times or the donation over at their site mariomarathon.com

Also in gamer news, it looks like Blizzard will be rekindling the flames of hell soon. During a conference in Paris they announced the upcoming release of Diablo III! Why Paris? I have no clue... didn't make any sense to me either. Regardless, they are finally going to make another Diablo and I can hear Jamie's gleeful squeels from here. All I've seen confirmed about the game is that it'll still be an action-RPG, top down camera, with several playable classes including a new "witch doctor" class. I'm sure more info will start trickling in with time, but till then get that clickin' finger ready!

Lastly, for automobiles, I have nothing. Later dayz!

Sad, Glad, and Bad

So, first off todays comic is a very small tribute to a great comedian George Carlin who passed away a few nights ago. Remember that in the storyline that Rob is dead an in an afterlife of some sort which is why George is doing a show. I thought this was a nice way to work in a little due respect for the man without breaking the storyline.

On a lighter note, I wanted to let everyone that didn't know yet that Hot Soup / Lemuel Pew is back in the webcomic world!! He's working on a new comic Blank It! along with fellow creator Aric McKeown. Aric and Lem both are old pro's at the webcomic thing and so far the new comic is solid and looks to be very promising. Go check it out at blankitcomics.com!!

Lastly, the bad news is that I'm still working on WTH site stuff. I wanted to have it all done last weekend but it didn't happen that way so I have some more work ahead of me. So, if you stumble on a broken site any time this weekend just know it's me making a mess of things and I'll get it all back in line by Monday. Thanks for your patience!

Have a great weekend everyone, later dayz!

So They Say It's Your Birthday?

So, technically it is WTH's birthday today. Technically, in some weird way everything gets another year older. There's only one major, glaring problem: that huge hiatus in the middle where everything sorta, you know... stopped.

I thought a while about how to approach this, or even if I ever should. The truth is though, WTH as a comic has existed for a while and I think if nothing else it deserves to know how old it is right? On the other side though, there is no way I can take credit for those years I wasn't doing anything. That's just wrong. So, how do you judge the age?

After a lot of self debate about things (and I went from crazy complex to stupid a few times in this debate) I've decided to count the age this way:

June 25, 2001 - June 24, 2002 is year one.
June 25, 2002 - June 24, 2003 is year two.
June 25, 2003 - June 24, 2008 is year three.

So, thats it. WTH is now officially (in my book) three years old and today begins year 4. What can you expect for year 4? Well, all I can say for that is hang around and we'll find out together! Thanks for sticking with me everyone!!

BlueStar Blues

A couple months ago I cut down the comics to 4 a week and said I had a reason for it. Today I'm announcing the other project that I've been working on: BlueStar Blues.

It's a new webcomic that I'll be doing alongside WTH, both will be 4 days a week Monday through Thursday. WTH will not change at all so don't worry about that. Still be here 4 days almost always on time, so set your clock to it...if you don't have to be anywhere.

Okay, now on to the good stuff!

BlueStar Blues is a fantasy/sci-fi mix about an unlucky loser who gets forced into becoming a Space Pirate. You can read more about what BlueStar is over there in the blog - I made a nice post about it to start the site off.

...OOOOOORRRR you could read the 3 weeks of comics already up! What's that? YES! That's right!! I've secretly been building up an archive! What are you waiting for? WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE? GO!! Go over to www.bluestarblues.com and star reading!

GhostHamster Hunters

Everyone remember Ben Paddon from the last Chug-A-Freeze right? Okay, so as I mentioned back then the dood is all over the webcomics community... and recently he just began yet ANOTHER cool project.

The new project is called Ghost Hamster and is a home-away-from-home for webcomics. What does that mean? Mmm... not sure either, but basically it works like this: if you have an idea for a webcomic joke and it doesn't fit your comic or you don't think you'd make a whole full-time comic out of it but you still wanna make it... now you have a place to put it!

Ben is taking submissions for what is basically a funny idea without a home site. You'll keep all the rights, he's promised to run no ads or products or anything so you won't be losing money. Basically its just a site to put fun stuff you just gotta get out of your system. I think it's a pretty cool idea myself, and when I get a chance I'll throw a comic or two his way.

I wanted to give you guys notice of it too, in case any of you had interest and time to make a comic as well. Ben does a good job of explaining his thoughts and process on the site too, so feel free to jump over to Ghost Hamster and send in a strip!

Also, I just wanted to remind everyone that the sites going through some construction this weekend so don't freak out if you stop by and it looks weird. Have a great weekend! Later dayz!
